Embark on a full-day guided tour from Krakow that takes you to two of Poland’s most significant historical landmarks: the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum and the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Your journey begins in the morning with a convenient pickup from Krakow, where you’ll board a comfortable, air-conditioned bus. Throughout the day, you’ll be accompanied by a knowledgeable tour leader who ensures a smooth and informative experience. At Auschwitz-Birkenau, a licensed museum guide will walk you through the former concentration and extermination camps, sharing the deeply moving history of the Holocaust and the lives of those affected. The visit provides a powerful and respectful insight into one of the most tragic chapters of human history.
After a break for lunch—during which you are encouraged to bring your own snacks—you'll continue to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its remarkable underground world. A local expert guide will take you through a labyrinth of tunnels filled with stunning salt-carved chambers, chapels, sculptures, and the original miners' workplaces that date back to the 13th century. The tour concludes back in Krakow in the evening, around 8:00 PM, leaving you with a profound appreciation of Poland’s history, culture, and resilience.

We booked the 4am tour for Auschwitz for £96 each (tickets to Auschwitz are actually free by the way, you just need to pay about £20 for a guide). We were told at 5pm the night before that our departure time was 1.40am because we had to get there early to secure tickets as the day before 600 missed out on tickets. We agreed to go ahead with the early departure because we booked late and this was our only option. One of the employees messaged and said we could wait in the bus while we waited and the driver would manage the queue, so we thought this would be fine as we could just sleep on the bus until the gates opened. When we arrived outside Auschwitz, we were told we weren’t actually allowed to wait in the bus but instead had to wait in 5 degrees and rain until 7.30am when the gates open. There was no seats, food, water, shelter or toilets where we waited. By the time we finally got into Auschwitz, the tour operator said there were no tickets for English speaking guides left for tours in the morning and recommended we just got any earlier tour. Our tickets with the tour operator clearly stated “English speaking guide”. We thought about waiting until the afternoon to get an English speaking guide but by the time we got the ticket booth the tour operator had already purchased everyone a Polish speaking guide for the morning. No one in our tour group spoke Polish so it really impacted our experience at Auschwitz. As we left Auschwitz, the driver nearly crashed into a reversing bus. We asked for a partial refund and they responded with excuses and said that they were going to update their advertisement (therefore acknowledging that it was completely false and misleading).

Definitely a must do when visiting krakow, Booked online, Driver picked me up at my location and then spent a few hours at the camps! And returned to same location. The guide was nice and friendly. The history of the place is quite overwhelming but would recommend to friends.

A must visit place when in Poland! Our tour guide was very informative and we had a positive visit! It is a long day as the tour lasted for about 5hrs.

The tour guides we had made this very memorable. Both were versed in the history and were not just stating facts but giving some insight. Especially our Auschwitz your guide Symen (sp?). He really just talked to us as he brought us around to this horrible but sacred sight.

I was in 2 minds whether to do this tour as I knew it was going to be very emotional due to the history however seeing is believing. Krakow tours were very professional , organised and very friendly. I am so glad I choose to do this tour in the end as it would have been sacrilege to miss such an experience on a recent visit to Poland .
