Embark on a profound 7-hour journey from Krakow to Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest former Nazi concentration and extermination camp. With a licensed English-speaking guide from the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, you’ll gain insight into one of history’s darkest chapters. Walk through the original barracks, gas chambers, and watchtowers while learning about the Nazi regime's ideology, the horrific impact of the Holocaust, and the meaning behind the phrase “Arbeit Macht Frei.” This moving experience offers an in-depth understanding of the genocide that took place during World War II.
The tour includes a live guide in English. For guests requiring other languages, guidebooks are available. Please note, due to high demand—especially from last-minute bookings—we reserve the right to occasionally substitute the English-speaking guide with one in another available language. We booked the 4am tour for Auschwitz for £96 each (tickets to Auschwitz are actually free by the way, you just need to pay about £20 for a guide). We were told at 5pm the night before that our departure time was 1.40am because we had to get there early to secure tickets as the day before 600 missed out on tickets. We agreed to go ahead with the early departure because we booked late and this was our only option. One of the employees messaged and said we could wait in the bus while we waited and the driver would manage the queue, so we thought this would be fine as we could just sleep on the bus until the gates opened. When we arrived outside Auschwitz, we were told we weren’t actually allowed to wait in the bus but instead had to wait in 5 degrees and rain until 7.30am when the gates open. There was no seats, food, water, shelter or toilets where we waited. By the time we finally got into Auschwitz, the tour operator said there were no tickets for English speaking guides left for tours in the morning and recommended we just got any earlier tour. Our tickets with the tour operator clearly stated “English speaking guide”. We thought about waiting until the afternoon to get an English speaking guide but by the time we got the ticket booth the tour operator had already purchased everyone a Polish speaking guide for the morning. No one in our tour group spoke Polish so it really impacted our experience at Auschwitz. As we left Auschwitz, the driver nearly crashed into a reversing bus. We asked for a partial refund and they responded with excuses and said that they were going to update their advertisement (therefore acknowledging that it was completely false and misleading).

excellent day out with two 14 year old granddaughters. thoroughly enjoyed the experience and they both learnt a lot. superb day. our driver Peter was excellent

The guidance was the best, Lucy is perfect. Also the whole organisation of the trip went smoothly.

The driver was really nice and helpful to us! Auschwitz itself was impactful and i learned a lot. Recommend a lot!

7am booking was moved to 5.35am but we knew this could be the case. some confusion when you get to the bus stop and trying to find your guide isn't easy. best thing to do is stand in one place and do not run up and down the road to check. our tour guide phoned me. trip itself was interesting and guides were good. shame about the waiting around to get into auschwitz as very busy. we must have queued for 1 hr before we got inside. apart from that was interesting and definitely worth the visit.

The tour was excellent. From the moment the driver picked us up right till the drop off. The minibus was great and the journey had educational information on the way and back. The tour in auschwitz was very well organised and our guide was very knowledgeable. It was very efficient and all went very smoothly. Definitely recommend.

Definitely a must do when visiting krakow, Booked online, Driver picked me up at my location and then spent a few hours at the camps! And returned to same location. The guide was nice and friendly. The history of the place is quite overwhelming but would recommend to friends.

A must visit place when in Poland! Our tour guide was very informative and we had a positive visit! It is a long day as the tour lasted for about 5hrs.

The tour guides we had made this very memorable. Both were versed in the history and were not just stating facts but giving some insight. Especially our Auschwitz your guide Symen (sp?). He really just talked to us as he brought us around to this horrible but sacred sight.

I was in 2 minds whether to do this tour as I knew it was going to be very emotional due to the history however seeing is believing. Krakow tours were very professional , organised and very friendly. I am so glad I choose to do this tour in the end as it would have been sacrilege to miss such an experience on a recent visit to Poland .
