Step into the past with a unique guided tour of Nowa Huta, Krakow’s iconic Communist district, known for its distinctive Socialist Realist architecture and fascinating Cold War history. Travel through the streets of Nowa Huta in a classic Communist-era vehicle such as a Polish Fiat 126p “Maluch,” Lada 2101, Nysa van, or even a Soviet UAZ 452 military van. Your knowledgeable guide will take you to key historical spots, including Plac Centralny (Central Square) and Aleja Róż (Avenue of Roses), where the country's largest statue of Lenin once stood. Learn about the city’s origins and purpose as a model Communist city, built from scratch to house workers of the nearby steelworks.
Explore the remains of the era’s urban planning and architecture, and gain insight into the ideology that shaped this one-of-a-kind neighborhood. During the tour, you’ll also have the chance to visit bomb shelters constructed during the Cold War, built in anticipation of a possible World War III. As you cruise through the city streets, your guide will share stories and anecdotes that bring the era of Polish communism to life, making this tour a truly immersive journey into Krakow’s 20th-century history.

We did the primary Nowa Huta adventure in communist cars tour. While, at 6'1", it was a tight fit into the passenger seat, it was a fun authentic adventure. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I learned a lot and enjoyed, aesthetic, the history, and the beautiful architecture. We felt comfortable and at ease and learned a lot.

What can I say, crazy they definitely are. A fantastic way to explore an area of Krakow that most tourists would miss. Driven around Nowa Huta in old Ladas. The tour was hugely entertaining and very informative about the communist built city. The guides have connection to the area having lived around there as kids. Highly recommend as a completely different experience.

What an amazing tour! Mike and Tom took some friends and me round Nowa Huta and showed us a really great time. Singing along to Disco Polo tunes from the 90s, fuelled by vodka, beer and pickled herring. Hilarious guys with great knowledge of Krakow and the communist era, I can’t recommend it highly enough! These guys give you everything.

In a world of lazy and fake reviews, I want to pay serious gratitude to these guys for an exceptional day out in Krakow for an 11-man stag party. Mike and Tom have their sh¥t together and are very intellectual, hilarious and sound authentic Polish blokes. They took us for a wild ride with some hugely interesting and personal historic stories with comedy at the heart. A truly batsh¥t crazy, funny experience for groups small or large; you’re in very safe hands with this mob 🙌🏼 Don’t do the paintball etc. Dare to be taken outside your comfort zone. Let these guys take you in; they’ll see you through. They deserve all genuine 500+ 5🌟reviews for creating an unforgettable and unique experience. We can’t stop talking about it!

What a perfect fun, informative, and crazy way to spend our last day in Krakow and our trip in total! My daughter and I wanted to learn about the Communist era in this country, and our guide gave us so much in our 3 1/2 tour. I thought it was great value for the price too. Starting off in the little police car we were all in for the adventure. The cool bunker piece of the tour was so interesting and different than anything we had experienced. Crazy Mike wove together the interesting photos of the area, people and events to tell the story of unique period in Poland's history. We totally recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get out of the historic district and learn more about what Poland. The tour time goes fast because it is so entertaining. Plus, when are you ever going to ride in a car like this! Don't miss this experience! PS The periogis are great too!
