On select Fridays from May through October, the Sunset Trough trip offers a special evening departure at 5 PM, traveling southbound through the scenic Trough to Sycamore Bridge and returning without a layover. The approximately 35-mile round-trip journey allows passengers to remain comfortably seated in the fully climate-controlled dining car, where large windows provide uninterrupted views even though they do not open.
