An absolute gem. I was initially interested due to my ancient history background considering the Mausoleum of Hadrian. While it now is only a shell of what it once was, it still provides an interesting part in history. However, the truly best part are the views from the top of the Mausoleum! You have breathtaking views towards the St.Peter's Basilica among others. As you can see in the adjacent photographs. Furthermore, there's a bar on top of the Mausoleum, where one can drink and enjoy the views. (Have in mind the prices are not particularly cheap, for comparison an Aperol Spritz costs 15€). Also, please buy the tickets online, there's not usually a big crowd but it's so much faster to get in! Thank you for reading!
Seeing Castel Sant’Angelo by golf cart was a great way to experience it without a lot of walking. The setting along the Tiber is beautiful, and the structure itself is impressive even from the outside, with a real sense of history and scale. The golf cart tour made it easy to take everything in comfortably and at a relaxed pace. Well worth including on a Rome visit, especially if mobility or time is a concern.
The Castel Sant'Angelo is one of those places in Rome that leaves an immediate impression. The castle is incredibly powerful and imposing. Just walking across Ponte Sant’Angelo, lined with its beautiful angel statues, already sets the mood perfectly. You can truly feel the history—knowing that this structure has existed since ancient times, first as a mausoleum and later as a fortress and a refuge for the popes. Once you reach the top, you’re rewarded with a stunning view over Rome. The panorama of the Tiber and the Vatican is simply magnificent. Everything feels calm, dignified, and at the same time deeply impressive.
