Here's everything you needed to know about booking the 5 hour trip on Malolo. After you park you will need to go *downstairs* to get to the shop entrance to check in. I was a little lost at first, but someone pointed me in the right direction. You cannot bring your own booze on this trip, however there are drinks available for purchase after you finish snorkeling. They were not great, but they were strong and inexpensive. The provided breakfast was pastries and fruit and lunch was sandwiches. Apply your sunscreen en route if you didn't already do so at your hotel so you can maximize your time in the water. They have a photographer on board with a fantastic under water camera. He will offer wristbands to those who definitely want their photos done so he knows to look for you in the water. The photos are priced to deter you from only getting one or two and to pay the full price to get the entire collection. I felt it was worth it as there were many photos of myself and my family (we opted for the wristbands). There is a variety of floatation options available for those that want or need them. Floatation belts and life jackets in every size and of course fins and snorkel masks are provided (also in kids sizes). There was a fantastic variety of sea life that we got to see! All sorts of fish in every color, I got a photo with an eel, sea turtles, coral, and even a shark! (A small one) The staff was friendly and thorough in covering rules and recommendations in a humorous fashion. Tips were requested on the way back but it didn't feel pushy or excessive. Overall, this was a wonderful experience for our entire family and we would absolutely do it again!
I purchased tickets for this snorkeling tour for my wife and my stepson a few days ago. Not a great experience and if I had to do it over, I would probably pick a different company. With this tour, you basically have to get up super early in the morning, so you’re leaving the hotel at like 6 AM. The actual snorkeling experience wasn’t bad at all, it was pretty enjoyable, but my issues are more with the service level. They tell you literally in the tour information that they provide breakfast and lunch which you would think is part of the $200 per person your paying for. Because of that, we didn’t grab anything to eat before hand because they were supposed to be providing it on the boat which really was not the case. When my wife and my stepson got on board, all of the breakfast had been taken by other people, and there was essentially no food left, meaning they didn’t get to eat. Lunchtime comes, and surprise surprise the same thing happens. Literally by the time they got up to the food, 98% of the food had been taken, and , there was almost nothing remaining. So they really didn’t get to eat at all until I picked them up that afternoon after the tour. If you’re going to say that you’re going to provide food, make sure you have actual food available for everyone on board.
What a thrilling experience. The water was a little choppy from the winds going the wrong way but I didn't care. Not as much fish since maybe there was too many boats anchored but enough to please. The 2nd part was even better going to Coral Gardens. Clear water, lots of turtles and fish. The food and drinks that were included were a nice addition. Would do again.
