This guided fishing experience is designed to give anglers the best possible opportunity to catch halibut, with six-hour combination trips recommended for increased time on the water and improved chances of a successful catch. Each vessel is limited to one catch-and-retain halibut trip per day, ensuring a structured and high-quality experience for all participants.

Guests should note that halibut retention is not permitted on Tuesdays from May 13 through September 9, and anglers aged 18 and older who wish to retain halibut must purchase an RQE halibut stamp at the time of booking. On restricted days or when retention quotas are full, catch-and-release fishing options remain available, allowing guests to still enjoy the experience of fishing in these rich waters.

Beyond fishing, this adventure offers opportunities to observe Alaska’s remarkable marine wildlife, including whales and other ocean species commonly seen in the region. Private trips provide additional flexibility, making it ideal for families or groups where not everyone wishes to fish, while still enjoying the scenic cruise and wildlife viewing.

The halibut fishing season typically runs through early October, depending on conditions. Guests are encouraged to dress for variable Juneau summer weather, with rain gear recommended for comfort and preparedness.
