Outing- Summer Tree ID Walk- Frick Park

Join local botanist Henry Schumacher for a relaxed educational hike through Frick Park. Participants will learn basic tree identification skills while exploring the forested landscape on a 1–2 mile walk. The pace is easy with frequent stops to observe and discuss different trees, plants, and natural features. This outing is suitable for adults and older children accompanied by a grown-up. The hike focuses on learning, observation, and connecting with nature in a calm, outdoor setting. Participants will gain hands-on experience identifying local tree species while enjoying fresh air and exercise.

The terrain is primarily gravel trails with some gentle hills, making it accessible for most participants. Hikers are encouraged to wear comfortable close-toed shoes or hiking boots and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Cold weather gear such as gloves, hats, and scarves may be necessary depending on conditions, and the organizers can assist with limited gear if needed. This experience offers both education and enjoyment, giving participants a chance to explore Frick Park in a meaningful way while expanding their knowledge of the local ecosystem.
