Cowichan Lake is offering a striking new way to experience its natural beauty as dusk settles over Gordon Bay Provincial Park. The Paddleboard Glow Cruise Light and Sound Experience begins at the Paddle Pod, nestled among the trees, where participants are welcomed by guide Josh and equipped for an evening on the water. After a brief safety orientation, guests set out just as the sun dips behind the western mountains, casting long shadows across the calm lake surface.

As the group glides away from shore, the experience transitions into a floating journey of light and sound. A curated music playlist sets the tone while LED systems mounted beneath each paddleboard illuminate the darkening water in vivid colors. The glowing reflections create a surreal contrast against the surrounding forested shoreline, guiding paddlers toward the Gordon Bay Islands in a tranquil, slow-moving procession.

Participants are encouraged to personalize their journey through adjustable RGB lighting systems, which allow each board to radiate its own unique glow. The experience is designed to be both immersive and accessible, with each guest provided a paddleboard, paddle, leash, life jacket, dry bag, and waterproof phone pouch. For groups and families, a larger 15-foot “Mothership” paddleboard accommodates up to four people, offering a shared platform ideal for children and adults alike, with optional seating enhancements available.

With small group sizes limited to six participants per tour, the experience emphasizes safety, intimacy, and connection with nature.
