Bought the experience as a recommendation from someone who lives in New Zealand. We are a couple from the UK on a roadtrip down the West Coast. Initially, we were a bit hesitant as it was expensive, but it was so worth it! The boat was amazing, and had live musicians playing each way. You also got to see the engine up close which was a cool feature. The food for lunch was delicious, and we stuffed ourselves! We even had a cocktail each which were really nice and reasonably priced for Queenstown. The farm show was okay, we got to see a sheep being sheared which was interesting and it was great to chat to the farmer afterwards. For a 3.5 hour adventure it was good value for money and we really enjoyed ourselves.
We were recommended this cruise and lunch by a man in a coffee shop near Nelson and we're so glad we did it. We were there in early December 2025. The cruise itself was very pleasant and smooth. There is an on board cafe which served a lovely flat white with a very pleasant young man serving. The gourmet BBQ option was well worth it, the food was amazing especially the lamb and beef and desserts! The views from the restaurant balcony are just spectacular. After lunch there was a sheep shearing and sheep dog demonstration by a lovely young lady which was terrific. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon
This is a must-do Queenstown experience that I have enjoyed many times since I was a child. This time I did the dinner at Walter Peak and it was fabulous! So well organised and every dish delicious. A perfect taste of Kiwi cuisine. Slightly disappointed that the piano on the ship had been downgraded to some kind of synthesiser, and that there wasn’t the traditional singalong on the return journey.
