Reka is a hidden gem in Vesteralens backyard. The hike offers stunning scenery and a challenging ridge climb to reach the summit. It starts with a walk through a picturesque valley surrounded by jagged peaks. After a short climb, you reach the southwest ridge where climbing begins with ropes. Several pitches are climbed but they are not very difficult. Reaching the summit ridge requires scrambling a few hundred meters to the true summit. After enjoying the view and a break, the descent is done by rappelling back to the base. The trip is long and physically demanding but does not require prior climbing experience.

The hike takes one day and can last eight to ten hours depending on fitness and group size. The best time to visit is from June first to September twenty seventh. Climbers need to be physically fit and willing to give full effort. Technical climbing equipment such as ropes, harness, and helmets are supplied. High top mountaineering shoes are suitable. The route offers one of the most challenging yet rewarding summits in Norway. Few people have reached this pointy summit by its easiest route.
