We were waiting for a while to get a table here, as we have always seen how the place has become popular; unfortunately, the experience was not as good as we were expecting. We had the chicharrones, which were okay but salty, the squid was soggy, and the alioli really plain. The prawns and the octopus were tasteless, and basically the only flavour we noticed was the olive oil. I do believe the wait was not worth it, as there are other Spanish places in town that are more worthwhile considering the nearly 3 month wait. The tarta de queso was good, and probably the best dish of the night.

The atmosphere was undeniably fun, though it was so loud that my Apple Watch gave me two noise alerts. But let’s be honest: the main reason you go to a restaurant is for the food. That’s where things fell short. Seeing the high reviews here, I was wondering if Dubliners have ever tasted authentic Spanish tapas. Here’s a breakdown of what we ordered: Chicharrones: Extremely salty—we couldn’t finish them. Chistorra: Scrumptious, but I doubt it was homemade. Patatas bravas: Not bad. Calamari: Tasted and looked like something straight out of the freezer aisle. Croquetas: Decent. Crispy eggplant: Delicious while hot, but loses appeal quickly. Gambas: Our favorite dish of the night—juicy and flavorful. Manchego cheese: You can’t go wrong with it. If you're a foodie looking for authentic tapas, this probably isn't your spot. But if you’re in it for the lively vibe, drinks, and a fun night out with friends, you’ll have a great time.
