An unusual cold weather front meant the water levels in the mangrove swamps were way lower than usual so no Gators but we did see Pelicans and Cranes and it was a lot of fun when they opened up the throttle. Worth wearing a top layer in case of the wind. Great fun! It took around 50 minutes from start to finish and the airboats are really stable. Headsets are onboard so you can talk to each other during the ride.

Get there on time, 30 minutes before your trip, they are very organized and expect you there. The boat left on time, actually a few minutes early! Great ride! Like an amusement park ride but better! The captain was informative and funny. After the ride we took up the option to go a few miles away to Wootens Animal and Gator farm, that was incredible! So many huge gators to see and the exhibition was amazing and fun. Highly recommended!

I had initially imagined this tour to be a calm, educational boat ride through the marshlands, with the guide explaining the geology, wildlife, and vegetation along the way. While that element was definitely there, the experience turned out to be much more exciting than I expected. The real highlight was the thrill factor. The captain didn’t just cruise slowly — he added bursts of speed with sharp twists and skidding turns through the marshland, which made the ride incredibly fun and memorable. The water itself is surprisingly shallow — only about 1–2 feet deep in most places — so there’s really no risk of drowning, which was reassuring while flying across the marsh at speed. Wildlife sightings were great. We saw a few alligators, many birds, and surprisingly, even a small pod of dolphins. The captain mentioned that dolphins sometimes swim into shallow waters to teach younger ones how to fish, which made the sighting even more fascinating and special. Airboats themselves are fascinating. Since they use a large rear-mounted fan instead of a propeller in the water, they can glide effortlessly over shallow marshes, mud, and grass where regular boats simply can’t go. That design is exactly what makes them perfect for exploring these ecosystems — and also what allows for the smooth-yet-exhilarating ride. One practical tip: if you plan to take photos or videos, I highly recommend strapping your camera or phone securely. With the speed and sudden turns, it’s easy to lose grip — and you definitely don’t want your device ending up in the water. Overall, this was far more than a sightseeing tour. It was educational, adventurous, and genuinely fun. Highly recommend Captain Jack’s Airboat Tours if you’re looking to experience the Everglades with a bit of adrenaline mixed in.

Awesome experience, totally worth it! We did the airboat tour and national park package. Rick was our guide - he was funny, informative, and drove with expertise. We went at the end of December; 75 degrees, sunny, and there were zero mosquitos (mosquitoes normally bombard me in particular)

Amazing experience and good value considering everything included although the mosquitos were a nightmare. I'd covered all my exposed skin with strongest deet available and they bit me about 10 times on my back through my shirt! We left our hotel a night early a fled to Naples. Still glad we stayed long enough to do their air boat tours though!
