Very cool and relaxed team, dealing with disparate personalities with locals and overseas visitor and the various needs, Clear instructions Especially helpful at the end when our group of three ended with flat tubeless front tyre and not enough spare sealant to keep it inflated, so son Cody gave me his bike (as I was the driver) and daughter Jeantine pedalled off to the pick up and point while Cody walked my bike. We got to Ongarue pick up point ahead of the last scheduled departure back to the Shuttle & Bike Hire base and asked the driver about cycling back along the road and he assessed those he had already waiting and figured that as we going to be driving back to this point to pick up our bike walking tail end Cody - the Driver decided to get everyone on board and drive as back to the base. My tired leg muscles whispered thankyou. Unloaded back at base, ticked off our arrival on the white board and drove back to the end pick up point. I, the driver tried a snooze on the bench at the shelter while Jeantine walked back along the track to find her hot and dry brother trodding along and pleased to see a bottle of water offered. No other cyclists came through except for one guy who had his vehicle parked there at the wait / end point. So thank you for the assistance the attached photo shows back on, in yellow vest and waiting our bikes to off loaded the Timber Trail Start
Thank you to the friendly, efficient, helpful team. You made the whole trip awesome with such a workable shuttle service. The Lodge was a wonderful treat. Great team, great coffee & kai, comfortable bed. Thoroughly reccomend the 2 night stay. 10/10
From our arrival at the Ongarue base this was an example of an excellent team at work. Efficient shuttle service, warm reception at the Lodge- with complimentary pizza to accompany a beer. Comfortable clean room , with clean bathroom facilities. The facilities at the lodge with good stock of reading material. Dinner and breakfast nutritious, and the option of a packed lunch a nice touch. The trail was excellent, easily managed by an over 80 yr old rider- but you should have experience managing climbs and slippery rutted surfaces.
