Greta place to check out the ruins. I was a little rushed and wish I could have spent more time but fascinating. Like any tourist place in Mexico there are an extreme number of vendors and they'll do a lot to get your attention.

If you're in the area, just go. Seriously, crowds be damned - there's nothing else like it. My own personal advice? Sign on with a small local tour in advance, preferably based close by (like in Valladolid) so you get there early. They'll drive you there & you'll avoid the parking hellscape. You'll have a local guide who will provide all the lore you desire. Dig deep & ask questions! This place is not here for your entertainment - it's the pinnacle of an entire civilization! Look, listen, and feel the history all around. And remember, the Maya are still here. 🙂

Mayan Heritage Site. You should go there. If you visit after studying history, you can see many things. I want to visit during the Spring and Autumn Equinox. At least 2 hours. If you have enough, I recommend you to look around for more than 3 hours. Mayan people are amazing.

My wife and I have been wanting to visit Chichen Itza for years. We finally made it and it is incredible!! We had an amazing time and we were just in awe of this amazing structure! I recommend going as early as you can as the afternoon gets pretty busy.

This is my second time visiting the archeological site, and It blew my mind once more, its just great, wear comfortable soes, this place is big. Get a guide so that they can explain the history. The fee is approximately $650 mx pesos for foreign visitors, and approximately $300 mx for mexican visitors.
