Guided Snowshoe Tour: Half-Day

Oh my goodness what a trip! It really was exceptional from start to finish and even the delay enabled us to dig deep and bond/gel as a team and really spend some time questioning why some felt so much stress about plans being disrupted (and some didn't!) The few days at the start spent in Kathmandu were instrumental in helping us to understand and appreciate the culture, customs, history and faith in Nepal which was so important in how we could then interact with the people we came across on the trek. It meant we could show more respect (I hope!) and appreciation towards our guides and porters and the wonderful people on the trail and gave that extra bit of colour to our experience. I never saw this trip as just a hike - having completed Kilimanjaro a few years ago, I was keen to add the extra layer of culture into the trip (which was a little missing in Tanzania), and this was done perfectly, thank you! The hike itself was fantastic - we enjoyed it immensely after we had left the main EBC path as we were suddenly on a much quieter and less built-up trail which felt less commercialised to be honest and enabled us to really immerse ourselves in the nature and wonderful scenery around us. We felt completely looked after throughout - Raj is a 'living God' (we named him such!) with the most incredible management skills of gentleness and kindness which totally instilled trust even when things got tricky. He showed very little signs of stress when he must have been feeling it with all the flight difficulties and only ever responded with calmness. He also had a lovely way with the assistant guides who were very nervous at the start of our trek - we soon made them feel part of our mountain family and they got more confident as the days passed and Raj encouraged them to do briefings and practise different elements to increase their skills - they were both wonderful people. Thank you so much for your help and patience when we were stuck in Lukla Sue - I know it must have been frustrating for you when we weren't responding to messages about the flights straight away due to the internet and power cuts. I'm very grateful to you for stepping in at that point and helping us get sorted. I honestly can't think of a single area where Adventurous Ewe could improve - you were all so responsive and easy to deal with. We would have no hesitation to work with you again and recommend you to others too. Perhaps one day our paths will cross - it's always good to meet like-minded people and we love what you're doing at Adventurous Ewe! Many thanks again for everything.

I've just got back from an epic cycling trip from Geneva to Nice over the French Alps and Mont Ventoux. All the arrangements by Adventurous Ewe went smoothly due to the close attention to detail they made when planning and booking. They really went out of their way to ensure that all our physical needs were taken care of and kept us going with fantastic encouragement and support when we needed it most. This was my fourth adventure with Adventurous Ewe and each time they go above and beyond to ensure that everything they can control goes smoothly! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

I have had the pleasure of arranging 2 private groups trips to Mt Toubkal through Jim & Sue at Adventurous Ewe over the last 3 months. 2 completely different group dynamics Both presenting different yet equally tough challenges, logistically, physically and mentally. AE have been extremely helpful, patient and supportive throughout our journey from initial enquiries to our final flights home. From meticulous planning, fantastic support in the UK, to unbelievably knowledgeable local guides and trek team, the whole experience has been fantastic. I have to give a mention to our UK guide who I have had the pleasure of trekking with on both occasions. Her professionalism and enthusiasm is infectious and a massive credit to any outdoor adventure company she represents. Thankyou Abi Senior, you have been awesome. Having to deal with the extreme heat and patching up a few injuries to allow people to achieve the summit in July and encouraging those who doubted their own abilities to achieve something they will remember for a lifetime in September. For someone so young, in such a competitive market, Abi has shown she can become part of a team of complete strangers whilst maintaining the level of maturity and detachment required to lead in some difficult situations. I have no doubt Abi will continue to thrive in this industy. For anyone looking to book an adventure, I would have have no reservations in recommending Adventurous Ewe.
