Had a really wonderful stay overall. We stayed in one of the newer Polar Sky Suites which was very luxurious. The experiences were awesome (we did huskies and reindeers) - even with a 11-month old baby. The food at the restaurant was great. All the staff was really friendly and professional. The shuttle service to and from the cabins was seamless. However, there were a few things that could have made the stay even better: - The light switches in the cabin (Polar Sky Suite) were a mess. So many switches and dimmers that there is no way to figure which one operates which light. - We couldn't find switches to turn off the the porch lights and there are street lights constantly on at the cabin grounds - this was annoying when looking at the northern lights. - There were no accommodations (like changing areas, etc.) for a baby at the main building/restaurant. Probably not an issue for most. We didn't see any other babies during our stay. Again, overall a wonderful stay.

Absolutely amazing location. We spent two nights here and were lucky to see Auroras both nights. So nice to lay back in bed watching the lights through the glass roof of the Aurora Cabin. Our guide, Mia, was amazing in the reindeer adventure. She just knows everything about the beautiful animals. The landscape is picture perfect, just like the Christmas cards, so for an Aussie it was amazing to see it for real

Spending Christmas at Northern Lights Village in Saariselkä was a truly magical experience for our family of four. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special — the snowy landscapes, the cozy glass-roof cabins, and the peaceful Arctic atmosphere. Watching the sky from our warm cabin and seeing the Northern Lights four out of six nights was unforgettable and felt like something straight out of a dream. What made the trip even more meaningful was how much our kids loved it. They enjoyed every bit of the magic — meeting Santa, playing in the snow, riding husky sleds and snowmobiles, and experiencing things they had only ever seen in movies or books. Seeing their excitement and wonder made the entire trip even more special for us as parents. The activities were well organised and authentic, the village was easy to walk around despite the snow, and we always felt safe and well looked after. Meals were generally good and comforting after long days in the cold, and the festive Christmas atmosphere tied everything together beautifully. Overall, Northern Lights Village delivered a once-in-a-lifetime Christmas experience. It was the perfect mix of adventure, comfort, and pure magic — especially for families. Most importantly, our kids truly loved every moment, and those memories will stay with us forever. 🎄✨

Stayed in a brand new cabin, in Northern Lights Village - really lovely. Perfect views of the town below & sky. Note- cabin temp is by underfloor heating and remotely controlled at reception, so just tell them if it's too hot/cold. The Activities staff were super fun and informative. Restaurant staff were non stop clearing plates & replenishing the tasty & varied dishes . Reception staff were very well informed and helpful. Everything ran like clockwork. Cloud prevented any Northern Lights sightings though.

We did 4 different activities with NLV and all were 5 stars. Matt took use to the Siida museum and was absolutely awesome. So knowledgeable and very flexible. We did snowmobiling and ice fishing with Jacob who ensured everyone was safe and had fun despite -30 weather. Had an incredible time on the 10km husky safari - it was the best thing we did, a must do. Finally, search for Santa - the staff absolutely made it. From the youngest at 8, to the oldest at 63, they got us participating and enjoying ourselves like kids. Just magical! Shout out to Olga and Stela at reception who were very patient as I rearranged and rebooked activities when other tour operators cancelled them. We had lunch there one day too which was delicious. Can absolutely recommend for activities - pick up was easy and they were always there early. We would definitely look at staying here next time. Thanks NVL!!
