Typical LatAm airport that seems hastily constructed without any thoughts for the passengers. The international terminal is a joke with no AC from the crazy heat in the check in area. Once you check in, there is nothing to do there but head to the domestic terminal where you have a choice of precisely two places to eat at, both of which are crowded. Past security there are a handful of shops and cafes, but vegetarians will be hard-pressed to find good food. Settle for a lame subway sandwich or yet another pandebono with coffee. Your best bet is to eat is at the Ventolini's before immigration check. There is a Priority Pass lounge in the international terminal, but it's bare bones and not self-serve. The food was almost all meat. There is a shower, however, and wifi that doesn't work. The WiFi does not work outside the shower also. Just like Panama City, the "free" airport WiFi cuts off after 30 minutes so that you'll have all the time to enjoy the loud airport announcements. It is so loud you are guaranteed to miss your gate announcements if you aren't a gate lice. Finally there is no AC on the jet bridge. So be prepared to cook for ten minutes as they slowly board you through it.

I've never experienced anything like it. The staff clearly didn't want to work, especially those at the Avianca counter. I arrived at the airport three hours before departure and still almost missed my flight. There was only one employee present, and she had no idea what she was doing. All the other employees were talking and laughing. Many people missed their flights because of this. And that's not all. My luggage never arrived, and nobody even knows where it is. Very suspicious person there. Never again!! Please be caruful to fly there and try not to bring a big baggage

Managed to walk through customs with 2 bottles of water. No announcements in English isnt a bad thing for basic announcements, but whole airport being closed you'd think maybe they'd get someone on the big voice box to have a word. Signage not good enough coming in to work out what terminal you need to be at. Helpful staff though. Except at the Avianca check in. Thought ww3 was going to kick off when they left the queue standing there for an hour. Manager must have forgot to schedule staff in on a Thursday morning.
