Cornell G was an excellent tour guide! He was so well informed with everything and even gave us additional information and tidbits about the area and places to visit and eat. I would recommend this tour over and over! The AHS house and solid marble tomb were my favorite stops.
We enjoyed three Cajun Encounters Tours while on our recent trip to NOLA. We started with the city bus tour, which was really amazing. The bus driver/tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, very personable, and really made all of us feel welcome by giving tips of favorite spots that were great! We learned a lot about the city and its phases and development over time. I highly recommend that tour. Next, we took a ghost walking tour of the French Quarter. This tour was too slow for our interests, but honestly we are not too interested in ghosts and lore around them. The tour guide was nice, but lingered too long on the first stop, so we parted ways before completing the tour. The third tour we took was a walking tour of the Garden District and this was one of the best activities that we did on our trip. The man who led the tour was a former English professor who had a lot of knowledge of the history of the eras, homes, development, and people of the district. He was really an AMAZING tour guide. I really enjoyed learning from him and we carried on a very interesting conversation! I was sorry that the tour had to come to an end! Obviously the quality of the tours is very dependent on the knowledge and enthusiasm of the tour guide, the quality of the routes and facilities, and finally the cost. I think the tour guides were very knowledgeable and worth the cost, the routes and facilities were very excellent, and the cost was reasonable for the what the experience was. We were very happy to have spent our time with Cajun Encounters!
Derek was an incredible tour guide. He was so knowledgeable and really brought New Orleans to life for us. I learned so much during the tour and left feeling like I need to come back and stay longer just to explore all the places he showed us.
