It rained and it was still a great experience. Animals came into their indoor enclosures because of the rain and you could see them all through the observation area. They are so well cared for.
It’s not an amazing zoo but it’s nice! Do not prioritise it if you are a tourist. Lovely place for a day out with family. Places to eat available and also spaces for picnics. Fun events during the year, specifically at Christmas.
Dublin Zoo is honestly the best zoo that I've personally been too. The animals seem well cared for with habitats designed to mimic their habitats very well in my opinion. I might have got lucky but the animals were very active and always visible, so that made the visit even better than theast time I visited. I'd recommend getting there early if you can, if you love animals and want to spend a good amount of time at each enclosure, you will definitely need as much time as you can stay at the zoo. I know people have their issues with the mere existence of zoos as, I went through the 1 star reviews for Dublin Zoo, but the animals looked well cared for and had a good amount of space as for a zoo. I think it is well worth a visit to see the work they do and the care they provide for the animals. All in all I'd highly recommend the zoo for any animal lover.
