My partner and I were extremely lucky to book onto a tour with Rolph last minute and we genuinely had one of the best days of our lives! Rolph is a wonderful guide & lovely person & super informative. We saw dolphins, porpoises, humpback whales, a minke whale, grizzly bears, black bears, sea otters, seals, sea lions & eagles! We felt very lucky to have experienced one of these tours and will hopefully be returning in the future🤞
We had a fantastic day. Rolf is great host and very knowledgeable on this beautiful area and of course photography. The day is long but you are supplied with plenty of coffee and a great lunch. The boat is smallish but comfortable and has an onboard toilet. The day itself, We saw bears including a mother and two cubs. After a great lunch we went looking for Whales, and we certainly found them, 25+ orcas, dolphins and a number of humpbacks, everywhere you looked something was happening, a photographers and nature lovers dream. It was great seeing them all, but also listening to the whales singing via the hydrophone, my highlight was actually hearing an orca sing as it swam under the boat, truly moving. It is an expensive experience but it was probably the highlight of our holiday and for us well worth it.
Book with Rolf. We had the best 2 days out with him as a family. Not only does he work hard to find wildlife, he is deeply passionate about their welfare and conservation of the ecosystem, which supports not just the animals but all who live and work in the area. This is beautiful small business, respectfully and well done. We were in very good, safe hands. The lunch was great but most importantly we saw Otters, Grizzlies, Humpbacks, assorted other Critters and of course ORCAS.
In august 2022 we spent two days on the water with Rolf Hicker. We had a great time. My husband is a hobby photographer and was able to take some great shots. The days on the boat were really relaxing and the scenery is just beautiful. Besides that we had the chance to see some bears and whales as well, so we felt lucky. We stayed at Rolf's B&B for three nights. Rolf and his staff do everything to make the guests feel comfortable. The food served, both breakfast and lunch was really fresh and tasty of high quality and healthy. We loved every minute of our stay and we definately hope to meet again.
We spent a full day with Rolf and discovered wonderful countrysides, grizzlies and whales. We will keep in mind this tour for a long time ! Thanks Rolf for your kindness and the way you talked about your country and people living there. We hope to come back !
