1-Day Akagera National Park

Early in the morning, we depart from Kigali and journey eastward toward Akagera National Park, a stunning expanse of savannah, woodland, wetland, and lakes located along Rwanda’s border with Tanzania. Upon arrival at the park entrance, we obtain our permits and begin an exciting game drive in search of the iconic Big Five: lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffalo. As we traverse the park’s diverse landscapes, there are abundant opportunities to spot a variety of wildlife including hippos wallowing in the lakes, elegant giraffes browsing the treetops, herds of zebras grazing on the plains, and swift impalas darting through the brush. The serene beauty of Akagera provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable wildlife experience.

Around midday, we head to a comfortable lodge within the park for a well-deserved lunch and a bit of relaxation. After soaking in the tranquility and possibly spotting more wildlife from the lodge’s vantage point, we set off for an afternoon game drive to explore different sections of the park and increase our chances of encountering more animals. As the sun begins to set, casting a golden hue over the landscape, we begin our journey back to Kigali. We arrive in the evening and conclude our adventure with a drop-off at your residence, carrying with us unforgettable memories of Rwanda’s wild treasures.
