During the cooking class, you will learn how to prepare authentic Albanian dishes from scratch, including recipes handed down through generations. The experience takes place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, accompanied by good company, local wines, and traditional drinks. One of the highlights of the class is mastering "Tave Kosi," Albania’s most iconic dish, famously known as the "independence dish" because it was the favorite of Ismail Qemali, the country’s first prime minister. You will also get hands-on experience making homemade byrek, a beloved Albanian savory pastry.

The class doesn’t stop at savory dishes — traditional Albanian desserts are also part of the culinary journey. Emphasizing authenticity and quality, the ingredients used are as organic and natural as possible, ranging from fresh herbs and vegetables grown in the garden to homemade wine and raki. This approach ensures that guests get to taste the true flavors of Albania, making the cooking class a rich cultural and gastronomic experience.

Wow! This was a fun (and educational) class. As a novice, I learned a few interesting tips about preparation/cooking while enjoying some smooth raki, delicious wine, and some very tasty Albanian dishes. Dervis is a great instructor and the class moves at a comfortable pace so you never feel bored and you never feel rushed. We had a group of six from different corners of the world and it was a true "hands-on" experience that was really fun. We laughed a lot. You'll leave with good memories and possibly, new friends. I HIGHLY recommend this event. Thank you!!!!

Super great class, the chef was friendly, had very good knowledge about food and Albanian history and was fun. Ambiente very nice, appetizers great, starter very good, main course was not our favourite but typical Albanian so we liked it and dessert was for takeaway if you couldn't finish it. Would totally recommend - great experience!

This class was one of the best experiences I had in Albania. The chef was friendly, patient, and explained every step clearly. We cooked traditional dishes like byrek using fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was warm and fun, we laughed, cooked, and shared a glass of raki together. The food turned out delicious, and I learned so much about Albanian culture and cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tirana!

We did one of the most awesome experiences yet, an Albanian cooking class in the heart of Tirana. We met Dervis, the owner of @cookingclasstirana who was a gracious yet down to earth host. A shot of rakia and some wine and the fun begins, before the cooking even began!! We met with the other guests, a couple of other Aussies two and couple of Kiwis even, and soon we all got into it, from learning to beat eggs and sugar, correctly, to do ally, getting to stretch dough to make byrek... and potentially, the skill for baklava 😜😜 We made dessert first, as this needed to take time to bake and soak that awesome sugar syrup... We made sheqer pare, a syrup soaked, cookie-like cake. Then for our "entree" we made tomato and onion byrek (we added olives to ours lol) and I gotta say, now that I've had tomatoes in Albania, I'm not gonna wanna eat tomatoes when we get back to AU 😭😭😭 nothing comes close to how tasty the tomatoes are here!! For our main, we made pule me pershesh, village style chicken with a shredded bread stew, kind of turns out like a souffle almost. Dinner was a typical Albanian affair, of course we ate what we made but Dervis dished us up some olive bread, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, pispili ,"corn bread" with leek and white cheese, gjiza (ricotta/cottage cheese) served with herbed croutons. Everything was perfect and everything was so tasty and fresh, how it should be. I would not only recommend, but I would say this is a must-do when you're in Tirana, it's worth the experience and the good food, as well as the fun and bonding you will have, but the recipes and small skills you learn, you can put to use in your kitchen ❤️❤️❤️🇦🇱🇦🇱🇦🇱

An unforgettable experience in Tirana – absolutely recommended! This cooking class was one of the highlights of our trip! We booked it very spontaneously, and everything went smoothly. The instructor was incredibly warm and welcoming, spoke excellent English, and clearly enjoyed sharing the secrets of Albanian cuisine with us. His passion was felt in every moment. Together, we prepared a wide variety of traditional Albanian dishes – all fresh, local, and incredibly delicious. There was no shortage of wine, raki, and water throughout the experience – everything we could’ve hoped for and more. The portions were so generous that we had enough leftovers to take with us for our journey the next day! The international atmosphere made it even more special: people from many different countries came together, and even those who didn’t speak English were warmly included. The instructor took time for everyone and made sure all felt comfortable and welcome. On top of all that, we received great tips about restaurants, sights, and hidden gems in Tirana – a true all-around package. And the best part: it was the best price we found, especially when booked directly through the website. Conclusion: Authentic, delicious, and full of heart – this cooking class is an absolute must for anyone visiting Tirana!
