An excellent experience, especially compared to the big diesel monster boats plying the river. Friendly staff and well planned itinerary. Super guide and a nice group of travellers from around the world. The food was good, but most got a day with stomach problems. Surprisingly, a dahabiya doesn't sail on its own, but is tugged by a smaller tug boat. It meant that the sailing was very quiet.
We had a lovely stay on board of Anoush dahabiya. First we felt a bit strange because we were the only guests on board but Hussein and Rambo were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcomed and relaxed. The boat it self is very beautiful, rooms are beautiful and we were upgraded to a suite with a small balcony. The food was fantastic and plentiful (much more than we required). Yes, the WiFi is not stable enough but that didn't bother us as we had our own data SIM so we didn't rely on their WiFi. Only suggestion we have is that rooms should be cleaned daily and not only upon request. For the price we paid we expect it to be handled without the need to mention it. Otherwise it was great.
We had a 3-night / 4-day cruise from Aswan to Luxor, and it was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Egypt! First of all, the service was outstanding. Everyone was incredibly kind, efficient, and helpful — without a doubt the best service we experienced anywhere in Egypt. The boat itself is beautiful, with a splendid reception room and a back deck where we enjoyed sunsets and relaxed every day. It was peaceful and quiet, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The visits were also fascinating. Shaimaa, our guide, was exceptional — so knowledgeable and passionate. She told stories and explained the history of each place in such rich detail that it felt like being inside a novel. She truly made us travel through time, and it was an absolute pleasure to be with her. We were extremely lucky — thank you so much! The only negative point we could mention is the quality of the mattress, as we ended up with some back pain. Finally, a huge thank you to the entire crew. We sincerely hope that the tips given to them will actually reach them and not be kept by top management. Their work is demanding, and they truly deserve every bit of recognition.
