I will say that this museum, housed in a beautiful building that was once a train station, was my favorite stop of the four short days that we had in Paris. If you like Impressionism, this is the place for you. The works on the fifth floor were nearly an emotional experience, as it tells the story of how Impressionism began and evolved. The museum is well organized and easy to navigate. We were also thrilled to see Whisler’s Mother in the first floor as well as some early paintings of the great impressionists. To me this museum is much easier to wrap my head around than the louvre. If you come during the busy season, purchase your tickets in advanced for timed entry. I purchased a hardcover book recapping some of the works, for a very good value of 20 euro.

My favorite museum in paris. Absolutely incredible collection of sculptures and impressionist artworks. Generally, the museum and art is so thoughtfully imbedded into the old train station building that it makes the space have a special feel to it. However queues are crazy, so make sure to book your tickets online (said by a person who stood there for 40 minutes).

The art at Musee d’Orsay is well known and will live up to your expectations. What is equally incredible is the beauty of the building. It is increíble, detailed and majestic. If you can, spend a visit just visiting the various corners and vistas in the building. It is one of the most beautiful buildings I have visited.

Beautiful museum with friendly staff. The woman at check-in welcomed our two children in particular and asked about their stay in Paris. They have neat little free lockers to safely stash your things in, which was a very good touch so we didn't have to lug our backpacks and coats through the museum. This place is busy though. We went on a Tuesday in January. No holidays, not a weekend, and if it were any busier it would have been uncomfortable. I can see why though, the collection of Van Gogh's and Monet's is absolutely splendid. Seeing a Van Gogh in person is a whole different experience than a picture or a video. They almost come to life as you stare at them. What is also nice about this museum is it is not overwhelmingly huge. You can see it all and take some time to contemplate pieces without having felt like you missed anything.

Guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about art. Because it was a small group the tour was very well organized and we had ample time to admire the paintings. 100% recommended.

The Musée d’Orsay, opened as a museum in 1986, is a brilliant example of how a former railway station was transformed into a cultural masterpiece. The architecture alone is stunning — elegant, spacious, and very French in style. Inside, the museum offers a complete and fascinating journey through the history of Impressionism, with works by some of the world’s most outstanding artists. The collection is beautifully curated and inspiring. There is also a stylish café inside, perfect for enjoying a coffee, tea, or even a light meal while soaking in the atmosphere. Overall, a truly memorable experience that leaves a very warm impression.👍 Highly recommended

Our guide, Mae, was excellent! You could tell how passionate she was about art history and it made you want to be just as passionate about it as well. She gave us an introduction and history of the building and the impressionist period prior to starting the tour to give a great background to what we were going to see. The group side of 6 was a really nice size to be able to hear, listen and see. The two hours flew by! Would highly recommend this tour.

Best guided art tour I’ve ever done. Our guide Marine was great at sharing her knowledge about the art works in an accessible way and giving us information about symbols and clues in paintings to look for. I loved her storyline about Monet and Manet and also how she showed us extra information on her iPad. She had a very relaxed manner, took care of everyone’s needs and was a fun guide.

Our guide, Nadia, was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We really liked the way she connected art to social changes.

We ended up having a private tour as the only people booked for this day. Our guide Blerta was extremely passionate about art and art history. She shared so much of her knowledge and we felt we left the tour with a much greater appreciation and understanding of the pieces in Musée D’Orsay. There is so much to see and we felt we saw many of the masterpieces, and were left at the end to look around at our leisure. Highly recommend.
