Amazing property along the river. Beautiful room. Service is a 3 - Reception and the concierge deserves a 5. Kevin at the front desk was awesome. Food and beverage are a definite 1. For example, at the Yvaga bar I asked for a glass of sparkling wine because I saw other people with it. Bartender said they were out. So I got a gin and tonic. While he was making the drink another patron inquired about sparkling and he opened the fridge and got out a fresh bottle. Weird. So my friend asked for a gin and tonic and he said they were now out of gin. Seriously- a bar that runs out of gin? We just went with the flow until it was time to settle up and they tried to charge us for beers that we never had. Important to note that there were only 6 people in the bar. None of this is a huge deal, but the bad attitude and lack of interest in serving drinks get them a 1. Photo below clearly show the bottle of sparkling wine and the bartender pouring a glass of wine that they were “out of”. For the price to come here, I expect better.
We enjoyed a 3 night stay at this secluded and quiet hotel in the jungle. It was fairly close to the parks on both sides of the border, which were easily reached via taxi or a private guide. The rooms are large and comfortable, but suffer from a little wear and tear. Our room was clean with a comfortable bed, good WiFi and good climate control. I had to pay a little extra when we arrived for a bigger room because we were unsatisfied with the “junior suite” option. That room was smaller, darker, and had two beds, which we didn’t anticipate. The staff was friendly and helpful when we complained about the room and moved us immediately. Overall, this hotel is a good choice for visiting the area and the Falls if you don’t mind its isolated location.
Awesome hotel inmidst of the jungle. In very good shape. Food quite good, drinks even better. The service is a bit too unattentive for a five star hotel for my opinion, but im a bit a spoiled brat.
