Fun place with fun staff. Much smaller than I expected. Pretty much 4-5 rooms with armor, weapons and some informational posters. But the staff does a good job at keeping you engaged. The ninja star throwing was a memorable experience. 5 stars for our guide Nobu for making the tour fun and articulate. He along with the amazing Jukio put up a great Samurai show at the end.
The kids really enjoyed learning the history of Samurai and the difference between their pyramid of command as well as how ninjas came to be. There is a lot to see and take in so if you feel rushed in the moment dont panic there is lots of free time at the end. The Shiroken throwing was great fun and we enjoyed the dress up opportunity at the end. We only did the basic ticket and arrived early but they let us join a earlier session which was really great as it was raining.
Well organized and fun little experience to do in Kyoto. Very informative and interactive! Great for small or large groups and all ages. Highly recommend this since Kyoto is a bit more mellow compared to the other cities that also have samurai museums. Booked the same day and didn’t have issues finding a good time-slot before dinner.
