This trip was such a great experience. The ship was excellent, the guide and archaeologist were top notch, and the food was beyond amazing. It was wonderful to spend the day touring ancient sites, visiting a winery (and tasting great wines) or learning all about olive oil production then and returning to the gulet and immediately jumping into the beautiful turquoise water. Ahhhhh! Our small group bonded immediately, and we had so many laughs together.

In the six weeks we've been traveling through Turkey, the best part, by far, was the Gastronomic Gulet Cruise with Peter Sommer. A perfect blend of archaeology and gastronomy with true experts and local people who Peter and Cem have cultivated relationships with for decades. The boat was beautiful, all teak and mahogany. The meals were a cross-section of Turkish cuisines, and included local items from the locations we visited that day, like honeys, bread, vegetables, fish etc. Peter's expertise in history was unmatched, and his stories from the ancient writers, about the very places we were at, brought everything to life. One thing to keep in mind is that this is not a cruise ship. This type of trip is best enjoyed by active, inquisitive, people who want to go a bit off the beaten track.

Imagine waking up to sunrise onboard a handcrafted exquisite Turkish gulet boat in the Aegean Sea, the warm September air greeting you as you sip hot coffee waiting for your onboard family style breakfast to be served. The familiar morning routine for you and your fellow passengers is something out of a dream and you soak up every moment, wanting it to never end. This is what we discovered as we toured the coast of Turkey with the Peter Sommer's "Cruising to Ephesus" tour - an experience of a lifetime and memories we will cherish for many years to come. Our crew expertly took care of every detail and all we could possibly need. From delicious Turkish cuisine, coffee and tea, local wines, and daily excursions to see archaeological sites explained in detail by a true expert to local excursions arranged by our warm and generous local guide to daily swimming in the clear blue waters that are brisk and rejuvenating - all this became our dream come true. Never in all our travels have we had such a lovely trip expertly planned for us with such a lovely tour company.

We were complete novices with this type of tour and were absolutely delighted with everything - from the itinerary, locations, guides, Gulet vessel, crew and experiences. We would turn around and do another tour tomorrow if we could! Peter, Jem and Jesper were very knowledgeable in their fields being able to answer all questions the passengers put to them. Our fellow passengers were great to travel with making the whole tour delightful. We learnt so much about this fascinating part of the world and look back on our photos with joy.

Just back from a 7-day Carian gulet cruise with Peter Sommer Travels which exceeded my very high expectations. The food was outstanding, Peter and Cem are incredibly dedicated, intelligent and interesting. The gulet crew were impressive. The group of 12 people from 4 different countries pulled together well. And the places we visited were very memorable. Definitely want to take another gulet cruise with Peter Sommer Travels. Superbly researched, planned, and executed. We knew what to expect and expectations were exceeded.
