What a great experience and we were certainly lucky with a sunrise after 3-4 days of rainy weather. The ticket purchasing is seamless and all staff even at 5.40am were friendly and helpful. The 1200 steps are not for the faint hearted and luckily we weren’t held up to much on the way up and we’re able to experience the sunrise. It wasn’t as busy as I’d expected and it is certainly an easier climb to Pidurangala. It is amazing to think that a temple was built at the top of this mountain by hand, but when you see the view you can see why you would! Definitely worth the steps!
Sigiriya is an absolutely breathtaking place and a true treasure of Sri Lanka. The ancient rock fortress is rich in history, culture, and stunning architecture. Climbing to the top is a bit challenging but totally worth it—the views from the summit are amazing. The frescoes, mirror wall, lion paws, and well-maintained gardens show the incredible craftsmanship of ancient times. It’s a peaceful yet powerful place that gives both adventure and mind relaxation. A must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike.
It offers a scenic view from the top and an amazing sunset experience after climbing about 1,200 steps to reach the summit of Lion’s Rock. The entry fee is $40 for Indian passport holders and $50 for others. The hike is easy to moderately difficult. The views from the top are breathtaking, though it can feel a bit scary for those afraid of heights. Still, the panoramic view is absolutely worth the climb. Guides are available at the entrance for as little as $1 per person, which is a great option for learning more about the site. P.S: Carry a Water Bottle but Do not Litter.
