Our tour guide Dan was a lot of fun to be around! A super unique experience to be able to hangout in hotsprings on the side of a mountain and also explore secret waterfall caves. Well worth it

It was a long day from Mexico City but a beautiful experience heading to Las Grutas. Unfortunately we didn't have the best weather... but it was still very nice experience. On the way back our bus broke down so that was a bit of a delay... the ride was a bit rough for how long of a trip. Would have expected a bit more of a comfortable bus. For how much it was... I would have expected more to be included - i.e. food / drink but nothing else was included

Great trip, tour guide was super funny and very helpful. The Tolantongo experience was amazing especially chilling in the river and going inside and below the cave. The Instagram friendly artificial pools were also good but the other natural things were far better. Only issue us that it is 4 hrs away from CDMX, so total time would be 14-15 hours for the whole thing and any person would be super tired at the end of the day

Lovely location with beautiful waterfalls, grottos and many pools with varying temperatures from warm to tepid. The views are amazing. It’s like being in an Avatar movie!! There are restaurants on-site while climbing to the various waterfalls and pools. Hotel rooms with balconies, and more upscale dining options on-site. It’s a bucket list item you didn’t even know was on your list!! I highly recommend that you pay the additional 150 pesos per person to cross the suspension bridge to the separate Gloria park. There are even more hot and warm pools and caves to experience and explore. Both locations are gorgeous!!

i will seperate the review between the place itself and the rooms. the place itself is amazing honestly probebly the most unique places i have been, is a must go. few tips: 1. they charge you entrance to the place about 230 mex dollar for each day definitely worth it. 2. there are two hotels one on opposite sides of the site one has the hot river and cave and is located on the botom of the creek. there are about 50 steps and is not suited for people with disability. the second site is about 300 m higher and located about a kilometer drom the first site there you will find the worm pools on the cliff edge. dont worry there is a shuttle which will take you from one place to the other for 15 pesos. both places are amazing but if i had to do things again i would definitely take the second option, although it does not really matter. reaching the place by bus you need to take a bus to lxmiquilpan and from there a shuttle to grutas tolantongo be warned the shuttle is older then me and the driver fly, before arriving there is a drop in altitude of several hundred meters and the bus driver goes wild. all the time cliffs of hundreds of meter drops all around you as you go serpentine... but the view is as good as it gets. the room itself is old with no air conditioning bearly any electricity and amell terrible but honestly the place is so amazing it didnt bother me, after all you came for the place not the room. best place i have been so far in mexico. unique i would safely say through out the world, a must see definitely.

Grutas de Tolantongo is one of the most magical places in all of Mexico! 🇲🇽💦✨ It’s hard to believe such beauty exists — turquoise thermal pools built right into the cliffs, surrounded by mountains and lush nature. The warm mineral water flows directly from natural springs, and it feels absolutely heavenly to soak in while looking out over the valley. 🌄 The place is very local and authentic — you’ll see Mexican families relaxing, laughing, cooking, and enjoying the day together. That’s what makes it so special: it’s not a polished resort, it’s a real experience. A few tips for travelers: 💧 Bring water shoes — the rocks can be slippery. 🕶️ Go early in the morning to avoid crowds and enjoy the misty calm over the pools. 🎒 If you plan to stay overnight, there are simple hotels and camping options, but it’s best to book or arrive early. It’s about a 3-hour drive from Mexico City, but absolutely worth it. The moment you step into those warm turquoise waters, you’ll understand why people call Tolantongo one of Mexico’s hidden paradises. 🌊💙

We went on a public holiday/ no school weekend and it was a madhouse. Very crowded. But it was still so pretty and a great experience. The best part was going down to the river and seeing the waterfalls and caves. The pools were cool just crowded and kinda dirty towards the end of the day.

Spectacular views with very relaxing hot springs. It's about 3-4 hours from Mexico City and is completely worth a trip. Find a decent tour guide that will provide you with towels, phone cover, water shoes and food to make the day a bit easier. The hotel at the resort looked nice if you want to stay but nearly all the tours offered only day trips. Either way 100% recommended.
