Interesting visit to a local lowland plantation to learn about the many types of tea and their differences. The white tea has a terrific backstory, as told to us by our excellent guide, Dudley. He answered all of our questions and was gracious and kind through our 1.5 hour tour of the fields, factory and tasting. The ride up to the plantation is also interesting as you pass through some small villages and green rice paddy’s - when we visited in January. I recommend this to anyone interested in tea drinking and also learning about the many tea varietals.
Such a lovely morning out! Would definitely recommend whether you're a couple of larger group ie family (even if you're not a tea drinker!) Our guide took us around showing us how tea is grown but also other things like pepper, cinnamon, coffee and rubber! Being in the UK you usually just see these things in packets so it's interesting to see these things grow! You also get to walk inside the factory part and view the process of tea from when it's picked to final product. At the end you then get to sample 20+ varieties 😀
We got a short tour of the place and got to taste a lot of different tea sorts. We were also given a cake during the tour. At the end we were able to taste teas and then buy them.
