Our guide, Massimo, warned us not to fall in love with Tuscany. We laughed...how could seven hours make us fall in love? Well, he was right. We stopped in Livorno on our cruise and wanted to go wine tasting in Tuscany. After lots of research, we booked this tour, and while it was expensive, it was worth every penny. It ended up being our favorite experience from our two-week trip. Massimo met us right at the cruise terminal (super easy!) and was incredibly knowledgeable and proud of his country. The drive itself was stunning, we stopped several times for photos, and our visit to San Gimignano was a highlight. The wineries were authentic, family-run gems with amazing hosts, generous tastings, and what was supposed to be a “light lunch” that turned out to be the best meal we had in all of Europe. We can’t recommend Massimo enough. He made the day unforgettable, and we’re already planning our return.
We were picked up right at the Livorno port. The private tour went very smoothly with Victor as our guide and Roberto as our driver. Originally I had no ideas how to arrange time for different villages within only 8 hours tour, since it took around 90 min. driving from Livorno to Cinque Terre. Victor was very experienced and suggested we stopped two major villages and moved between villages by ship, so we also got chances to look at other villages from sea. And we wouldn't feel too rushed stopping by too many places. Food he suggested was nice. Time control was perfect, and we also got chance to have a look at the Pisa tower on our way back. Victor told us many interesting things and knowledge about this area, and Roberto was so friendly and nice. We were back to Livorno at exactly 17:10 which Roberto predicted. (all aboard time is 18:00) Oh, not only the tour itself was nice. The lady Diana from reservation office was also very helpful and informative. Will surely recommend people to book excursion with Bellaitalia.
Best tour we did in Italy thanks to Vittorio and Leonardo. I've taken many tours around the world and these two gentlemen are amongst the best I've ever encountered. Well done to this small family run company, ciao bella.
