Experience the full beauty and adventure of a five-day canoeing journey along the majestic River Wye. On day one, your trip begins in the scenic village of Glasbury, where you launch and paddle through the famous town of books, Hay-on-Wye. Enjoy a relaxing lunch break before continuing into the English countryside, concluding at Whitney-on-Wye. Here, you can rest and rejuvenate at the charming riverside pub, The Boat Inn, soaking in the peaceful riverside surroundings. Day two immerses you deeper into the enchanting Herefordshire countryside, paddling past lush orchards to the charming village of Bredwardine, known for its tranquil swimming spot, and ending at Byecross Farm Campsite in Preston-on-Wye for an overnight stay.
Discover the thrill and natural beauty of days three to five as your journey continues. Day three challenges you with an eleven-mile stretch into historic Hereford city, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the slower pace and scenic surroundings. Camping is available at Hereford Rowing Club. On day four, paddle sixteen miles downstream from Hereford to Hoarwithy, passing the village of Holme Lacey, famous for cider-apple and perry-pear orchards, with camping at Tresseck Campsite. The final day takes you ten miles from Hoarwithy to Ross-on-Wye, a picturesque section of the river offering four hours of serene paddling. The adventure concludes with collection from The Hope & Anchor in Ross-on-Wye, where we ensure your safe return to Glasbury. This five-day experience combines adventure, culture, and natural beauty, leaving participants with lasting memories of the River Wye and its stunning landscapes.
