Kokopelli Rio Grande Guide School

This seven-day raft guide training program is a fast-paced and exciting opportunity for adults eighteen and older who want to become professional raft guides on multiple rivers. Participants gain hands-on experience in river navigation, safety protocols, customer service, and leadership skills. Each day combines classroom instruction, practical river exercises, and skill-building activities to prepare students for a rewarding career on the water.

The program covers all aspects of rafting, from equipment handling and rigging to river safety and rescue techniques. Students will participate in flip and swim training, navigate challenging river sections like the Taos Box (depending on conditions), and learn how to safely guide guests through rapids. By the end of the week, participants will complete a certified check-out, demonstrating they are ready to work as professional raft guides.
