Literally one of the most profound experiences of my life. Visiting the Frida Kahlo Museum is mandatory if you’re in CDMX. Learning about her pain and perseverance was both inspiring and heartbreaking. We were told it would be impossible to get tickets without weeks of advance notice, but instead of giving up, we took a chance and managed to get tickets for the following day. I’m so glad we did. The Blue House itself, her clothing, and the medical devices alone are enough to warrant a visit, and of course her art stands powerfully on its own as well. Overall, one of the most important and meaningful museums I’ve ever visited ~ anywhere in the world. Viva La Vida!
Really great experience. Got tickets two months in advance. Glad we did this while in Mexico City! We arrived almost ten minutes after our ticket time and they still let us in (which was great, no wait!) Took us about 45 minutes to move through the entire place along with the clothing exhibit. Walked to get coffee nearby after.
I think this is one of the more important and well-known museums in CDMX. Its a pretty small space, and being a house museum, youre somewhat guided through the house. Even lingering, it might take you between 30 minutes to an hour to see it in its entirety. I found the price slightly steep for what was on offer. The gardens are lovely though.
