If you’re up for a short trip outside central Ubud, this rice field is definitely worth a visit—especially if you enjoy a quiet walk surrounded by greenery. We visited around 3:30–4 PM during off-peak hours, and it was perfect—fewer tour buses, not overcrowded, and very peaceful. It’s a little off the main Ubud area, but the journey wasn’t bad at all, and the scenery is beautiful. But don’t need to travel 2-3hrs from another part of Bali to visit. Unless you plan to stay in Ubud area. It is a not bad spot to take photos, and easy walk up and just need 2hrs small area ~enjoy the classic Bali rice terrace vibe without the crowds.
If you are traveling through Ubud, you absolutely cannot miss the Tegallalang Rice Terrace. It is one of those rare places that looks even better in person than it does in the photos. We spent a few hours here recently, and it was easily one of the highlights of our entire trip to Indonesia. The ViewThe moment you arrive, you are greeted by an unbelievable panoramic view of the lush, green cascading terraces. The landscape is a true work of art, reflecting centuries of Balinese tradition. Whether you are an avid photographer or just someone who appreciates nature, the scenery is breathtaking. Watching the light hit the vibrant green fields during the golden hour was a magical experience.Exceptional HospitalityWhat made our visit even more special was the incredibly friendly staff. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with genuine warmth and kindness. The Balinesehospitality is world famous for a reason, and the team here goes above and beyond to make sure every guest feels welcome and comfortable. While we primarily came for the photos, the food was a massive highlight. We expected a standard tourist menu, but the food was surprisingly delicious and full of authentic flavor. Every dish was fresh and beautifully presented.The real standout, however, was the Durian ice cream. If you are hesitant about trying Durian, this is the perfect way to do it! It was creamy, refreshing, and genuinely tasty a perfect treat to cool down.
