We absolutely loved this tour! Stefano was incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about his work. And his dog Lora was the star of the show. After the pickup at the local train station and a quick coffee together, we joined them on their truffle hunt and learned so much about the fascinating world of truffles. While sturdy shoes and comfortable trousers aren’t a must, they definitely help you dive deeper into the experience, especially if you’d like to follow Lora through the undergrowth in search of hidden treasures. A little adventure truly pays off here :) After our successful hunt, we were treated to a generous multi-course lunch where every dish showcased the freshly found truffles in the most delicious way. This was our favorite experience to end our holiday in Rome. Absolutely worth every cent! Just make sure to bring your appetite and a spirit of adventure. Thank you so much :)
Wonderful truffle hunting experience with Stefano and his amazing dogs! We had a fantastic time truffle hunting with Stefano and his two dogs, Lora and Chloe. Lora, a Lagotto Romagnolo — the traditional Italian truffle dog — found all five small black truffles we discovered that day. Chloe, a mix of Lagotto and Breton Spaniel, was full of energy and affection. Stefano clearly loves his dogs and his work. He shared so many interesting details about the breeds, their training, and how truffle hunting actually works. After the hunt, we enjoyed a delicious lunch in a beautiful restaurant with a stunning view. Stefano brought fresh white and black truffles found by him earlier, so we could taste both and learn the difference. The food was excellent, the wine was perfect, the atmosphere warm, and the whole experience unforgettable. We had a wonderful time and would love to do it again! Highly recommended to everyone!
Stefano is truly a charming and welcoming person. After picking us up in his car, we went for a walk with beautiful Lora in the woods and started finding truffles. Later, we went back to his home and had a delicious lunch with a lot of truffle. He explained his work and gave us a fascinating insight into truffle hunting and the magic behind it. Highly recommended if you are looking to escape the bustle of busy rome and learn about this unique job and above all taste some truly exquisite truffles.
