On my previous visit, I couldn’t get a ticket, so this time I bought one a month in advance — and it was absolutely worth it. The Van Gogh Museum is very well organized and easy to explore without feeling overwhelmed or exhausted. You can walk through it comfortably and truly enjoy the experience. If you’re a Van Gogh fan, this museum is a must-visit and definitely lives up to the expectations.

I absolutely loved this museum and everything it has to offer. What stood out most was how the entire experience felt like a story unfolding—guiding you through Van Gogh’s life while showcasing his work along the way. The way the exhibits were curated made it easy to understand his journey, emotions, and artistic evolution. The paintings themselves were stunning, powerful, and incredibly moving in person. It’s the kind of place that stays with you even after you leave. I would definitely recommend this museum to anyone who appreciates art, history, or cultural experiences.

I really enjoyed visiting the Van Gogh Museum. The entrance features a spacious, light-filled atrium, making it easy to orient yourself and find the start of the tour. I opted for the audio guide, which provided insightful commentary throughout. The museum takes you chronologically through Van Gogh’s life and artistic journey—from his earliest works to his most iconic pieces. What I especially appreciated was how the audio tour delved into his personal story, from his decision to become an artist to the development of his unique style. It also highlights the artists he admired and befriended, showing how they influenced one another. While I’ve seen some of his paintings in other museums, this one stands out for its extensive collection and well-paced layout. The entire tour can be comfortably completed in under two hours, making it perfect for a morning visit alongside other activities. The museum also has at least two well-stocked shops offering books, prints, souvenirs, and more—an impressive range of items. Thanks to the curators for a truly wonderful and accessible experience.

Must visit if you like art even one tiny bit. I'm not an art aficionado myself but I can't not be amazed by Van Gogh's Paintings. You cannot buy tickets at the gate. It must be pre purchased online beforehand. Please note the starry night (Van Gogh's most famous painting) is not here. But they have other amazing paintings including another masterpiece - The potato eaters. The lighting is not nice. It's dull yellow and doesn't do justice to the colours. It should be much brighter. One thing which was not nice was the locker system to keep your backpack which is not allowed inside. It's free but had no instructions. You first need to go to the panel and enter a code and it will assign a locker. The shop is also nice, they have some really good items for sale. Overall worth every penny !

We try to visit an art museum in every city we visit and this was a great one! Very organized timed entry and exit. The audio tour was great and the art was obviously amazing. It was also a good size, but not so big your feet hurt by the end. :) Definitely a must see if you visit Amsterdam but buy your tickets well in advance!
