Women's History Tour

This guided walking tour invites you to discover Amsterdam through the lives of remarkable women who shaped the city and were shaped by it. As you explore the historic center, you will uncover powerful stories that are often hidden in plain sight, revealing courage creativity and resistance across centuries. The walk offers a fresh perspective on familiar streets while highlighting women whose influence reached far beyond their time.

Along the route, you will learn about the first Black female millionaire in the Americas connected to the city bank, an Indonesian feminist linked to the VOC whose legacy is still debated, and women who practiced creative defiance from behind a hidden courtyard. The tour is designed as an engaging city walk and usually runs in all weather conditions. In case of severe weather, the experience may be canceled or rescheduled.
