Excursion to Évora and Monsaraz

This full day journey begins at Marques de Pombal Square and travels south into the Alentejo region. The road opens to wide plains filled with vineyards olive trees and cork oaks creating a calm rural landscape. The first stop is Evora a Unesco World Heritage city known for remarkable preservation. A guided walking tour introduces medieval streets the cathedral the Roman temple and the Chapel of Bones while sharing engaging local stories.

After the walk there is free time for lunch at a local restaurant. The route then continues to Monsaraz one of the oldest villages in Portugal enclosed by castle walls. From the hilltop village enjoy sweeping views over the Alqueva lake one of Europes largest artificial lakes. Guests may choose an optional wine tasting featuring respected Alentejo labels. The tour ends with a relaxed return to Lisbon.
