Šargan Eight Railway offers one of Serbia’s most enchanting travel experiences, taking visitors on a nostalgic ride through mountains, tunnels, and wooden bridges. This historic narrow-gauge railway winds through dramatic landscapes, recreating the charm of early 20th-century rail travel while revealing sweeping views of Western Serbia’s untouched nature.

The journey continues to Drvengrad (Mokra Gora), also known as Wooden Town, a handcrafted village built entirely from wood and designed with a fairytale-like atmosphere. Created as a cultural project, it features traditional architecture, artistic installations, and cozy streets that invite visitors to explore a space where creativity, heritage, and storytelling come together in a uniquely immersive setting.

From there, the route leads into the heart of Tara National Park, a protected area known for its dense forests, rich biodiversity, and breathtaking viewpoints over deep valleys and rolling mountains. The park offers moments of quiet connection with nature, where panoramic stops reveal some of the most scenic landscapes in the region.

The experience concludes at the iconic House on the Drina River, a solitary wooden house perched dramatically on a river rock at the border between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
