Our journey begins at Smederevo Fortress, the last Serbian capital and stronghold before the Ottoman occupation. Built in the 15th century along the Danube, Smederevo was both a political and military center of medieval Serbia, strategically positioned to control river traffic and defend the realm from advancing forces. Its massive triangular layout, towering walls, and imposing gates reflect the urgency and ambition of its construction, as it was erected in a time of constant threat. Walking through the fortress today offers a powerful glimpse into the final chapter of independent medieval Serbian statehood and the dramatic transition that followed Ottoman expansion into the Balkans.
From there, we move on to Ram Fortress, considered the first artillery fortress in Europe, marking a turning point in military architecture. Designed specifically to withstand and deploy cannon fire, Ram represents the dawn of a new era in warfare, where gunpowder reshaped how fortresses were built and defended. Our journey concludes at the breathtaking Golubac Fortress, dramatically rising from the banks of the Danube at the entrance to the Iron Gates gorge. Known as the only fortress in the region that has never been conquered by any army, Golubac’s strategic position, multiple towers, and natural defenses made it virtually impregnable, standing as a lasting symbol of resilience, ingenuity, and the enduring power of strategic geography.

From the moment I showed interest in this tour, everything went so smoothly. The person I was in touch with online was super kind and really made sure everything was well organized for me. They picked me up right on time, and our guide Jelena was just amazing — very professional, experienced, and made everyone feel relaxed and welcome. She shared so many fun and interesting stories, and our group had lots of laughs and such a good time together. I also want to mention Žile, our driver — he was so respectful, kind, and handled the roads of Serbia perfectly. We all felt completely safe and comfortable the whole way. Honestly, I wish I had known about this agency before! I’ve done tours with other companies, but this one really stands out. The tour was engaging, well organized, and full of good energy. Next time I’m in Belgrade, I’ll definitely book more tours with them — they’re not only professional but genuinely kind and human. Super recommended!

We had the Tara National Park tour. It was absolutely amazing! Our guide was Nina and she was the best. She new all the spots, it is obvious that she is very experienced! We had a great time. Although the tour took a lot of hours, it is totally worth it and Nina made it so unique and not tiring at all. Our driver was also very good and careful. We totally recommend this tour and Serbia Inspired tours!! Many thanks!

Incredible Iron Gate Tour with Serbia Inspired Tour – Highly Recommended! I had an amazing experience on the Iron Gate day tour with Serbia Inspired Tour, and I can confidently say it was one of the highlights of my trip to Serbia. The tour was very well-organized, smoothly run from start to finish, and offered a perfect mix of history, culture, natural beauty, and adventure. Our day began with a visit to the stunning Golubac Fortress, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Danube River. It was like stepping into a fairy tale! From there, we continued to Lepenski Vir, one of the oldest archaeological sites in Europe. Our guide Jelena did a fantastic job explaining the significance of the site, offering fascinating insights into ancient life along the Danube. The absolute highlight for me was the speed boat ride through the Iron Gate gorge—a breathtaking section of the Danube bordered by towering cliffs and rich in history. It was both peaceful and thrilling at the same time! Our guide Jelena was warm, knowledgeable, and engaging. Throughout the trip, she made history come alive and was always happy to answer questions. Milan, our driver, was also excellent—very professional and friendly. The van was modern, spacious, and very comfortable, which made the road journey enjoyable as well. A huge shoutout to Djole, our boat captain, who made the ride not only safe but also really fun and memorable. If you're visiting Serbia and want to explore its eastern regions, this tour is a must. You'll see beautiful landscapes, learn about ancient cultures, and enjoy a unique adventure on the Danube. Serbia Inspired Tour truly delivered a 5-star experience!

Had a fab 13hr day doing the Iron Gate National Park tour (including speedboat ride). Nina our guide and Milan our driver were superb hosts and we soon felt like a little ‘tour family’. The fortress was beautiful- but be prepared for some steep, narrow staircases. Nina was very knowledgeable about all of stops and ready to answer all questions. Water was on constant supply- but may be worth bringing some snacks as lunch was quite late. We didn’t mind though as preferred an empty stomach for the speedboat ride! The speedboat ride was amazing and good fun- the Danube and scenery were stunning. Would highly recommend this excursion and tour team.

I did the Gems of Eastern Serbia with Nina. It was an amazing experience. Nina was funny, and has a lot of funny stories about the places and the country. She can even take few good photos and made sure I get vegan food at the lunch stop. I highly recommend tour with her
