The cave is quite small but worth a visit, it's well lit and an easy 15-20 minute walk. Beautiful views from the car park
This cave is pretty close to Rethymno. It is very nice, well-lit and logistically well-arranged. The cave has a long history - millennia ago people worshiped the god of Talos, Crete's guardian. Then, in the 19th century, locals hid in the cave trying to flee from Ottomans and the latter threw explosives into the cave. Everybody died... The nature of the cave is so great - with many stalactites and stalagmites that are well-lit, so you can view them easily.
It is a rather small cave, and one will only take 15 -20 minutes to go around. It has a historical significance to the people of Crete. The road to the cave os spectacular. There is a cafe at the premises.
