Our family had an incredible experience booking two private tours with Kyoto Fun. We loved supporting a small local business, and the personal touch they provide is truly top-notch. First, we toured the Gion area with Ben. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and showed us hidden alleys and quiet spots we never would have found on our own. He even brought along maps and old pictures that helped us visualize what "old Kyoto" looked like, which really brought the history to life. For our second tour, we did the "Mystic Hike of North Kyoto" with Salomé. It was a beautiful escape from the city crowds. Salomé was wonderful and incredibly kind to our 9-year-old; she even adjusted the route at our request to make it easier for the family. It turned out to be a very manageable and enjoyable hike for a child that age. If you are looking for high-quality, authentic tours with guides who are flexible and genuinely care about your experience, I cannot recommend Kyoto Fun enough!

We did the east side half day tour with Phillipe and it was the best thing we've done. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating, we didnt feel rushed and the route was beautiful - a good selection of gardens, architecture and charming streets of Kyoto.

We had such an awesome evening on our Gion Night Tour with Kevin! His whole approach was fantastic — super friendly, funny, patient, and genuinely interested in getting to know everyone in the group. He shared so many interesting stories and facts that made the night both informative and entertaining. We even got to see some Geiko, which was absolutely amazing! Thanks Kevin for making it such a memorable night. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely fantastic time with Niall on our walking tour in Kyoto. From start to finish, it was personal, friendly, informative—and genuinely funny! Niall has a real gift for storytelling and made the history and culture of Kyoto come alive in a way that was both engaging and easy to follow. He struck the perfect balance between historical insight and light-hearted humor, and it felt less like a typical tour and more like exploring the city with a knowledgeable friend. He also gave us some excellent local restaurant recommendations. This was hands down the best tour of our entire trip to Japan and honestly one of the most enjoyable walking tours we’ve done on all our travels. Highly, highly recommended!

We loved the cycling tour of the East side of Kyoto. Philippe was our tour guide and he was extremely knowledgeable and kind. Cycling is always a great way to get around and it is definitely open to any level of cycling.
