Where history meets the present, and you truly witness a great civilization that settled and thrived for thousands of years. Egypt is magnificent and rich in historical landmarks and human ingenuity. After the recent renovations, the area has become excellent, with comfortable shuttle buses making it easy to move from one point to another, along with restaurants and cafés available on-site. You can easily spend a full, enjoyable day there and capture dozens of stunning photos.

Seeing the Sphinx up close is a special moment. Its grandeur is impressive. Just as with the pyramids, everything has already been said. There is nothing I can add. Regarding my practical experience, going on a tour results in very little time at the main viewpoint. Access to the observation area involves a narrow corridor and is always packed with people. It's nothing extreme; I never felt "crushed" at any point. I just want to say that this number of people impacts how one absorbs the magnitude of the site. It is certainly worth it, but the logistics and crowds take away some of the charm a place like this deserves. I hope one day to return to Cairo with a less tight schedule, allowing more time—possibly during less crowded hours—to appreciate this wonder in a different way.

It’s striking but it’s overwhelmed by the the two massive and impressive Pyramids that are nearby. What makes it stick out is its anthropomorphic face. There can be smaller sphinxes seen as in Luxor that are cirosphinx that have rams heads. Guides whom companies call Egyptologists who really aren’t PHDs like Zahi Harass or Weeks or Joann Fletcher debunk the myth of its nose shot off by Napoleon’s men.

This is amazing. The history behind it, the chamber you walk in that began the momification process is very fascinating to learn. Learning the truth behind the loss of the nose was interesting. I recommend those visiting take some time. Learn about the history & importance of the SPHYNX in Egyptian culture & history. Visiting the Great Sphinx of Giza.It was truly magical. Standing in front of this ancient wonder, carved thousands of years ago, felt surreal. It’s massive, majestic, and full of mystery. The area is well-maintained, and the view with the pyramids in the background is just breathtaking. We took amazing photos and learned so much about ancient Egypt. A must-see for families — it’s one of those places that stays in your heart forever. Highly recommend adding this to your travel bucket list, especially if you’re exploring Egypt.
