Kunming Changshui International Airport is modern, spacious, and relatively easy to navigate. Immigration and security are generally efficient, and the airport layout is well-organized with clear signage in both Chinese and English. There are plenty of food options, cafés, and shops, though prices are slightly higher than in the city. The airport is well connected to Kunming city by metro and taxi, making transfers convenient. Overall, a comfortable airport for both domestic and international travelers. Got a flight that layover overnight here and they also have small beds for rest for low prices. Love the atmosphere and designing of this airport.

For me it was not one of the most pleasant experiences, on the contrary. Cleanliness is not the strong point, especially in the toilets... the temperature in the airport was extremely low and it was so empty everywhere, with many parts closed. We encountered problems upon arrival especially due to the fact that the employees were speaking in Chinese and waiting for an answer and this whole "discussion" lasted much longer than it should have, and upon departure in the security check area we had a less pleasant experience with all of us who were going to board due to their lack of organization... we went through the same checks several times where the employees were totally lacking in professionalism, manners.... let's not talk about receiving a smile. Everyone was treated as if we were political prisoners and not foreigners who should be left with a pleasant taste after visiting their country.

Clean and well organized airport ! I only struggled to find the international security checkpoints, as I got a transfer and KMG was a in between stop. Luckily a passant and police officer guided me. The airport itself has 3 floors. If you arrive via domestic flights you will properly be on floor 1. Then take the elevator to floor 3 .

Upon arriving at Kunming Airport, I was amazed by its unique design—especially the white sleeping pods that allow travelers to rest in privacy. Such a thoughtful and futuristic touch! There was also a huge dinosaur display in the airport, which was quite eye-catching. Even the toilets were impressively clean and much better than those outside.
