I contacted Aliaa, the queen of Luxor, short-term the afternoon before I wanted to go on a hot air balloon tour. Whereas other tour agents told me they're fully booked she managed to get me a space in a balloon. Communication via WhatsApp in English and super efficient. Price of 70 USD seems quite a lot but prices where getting higher everywhere at that time and I literally had no hassle at all: be ready in the morning, give someone the money at the balloon site and just enjoy the awesome experience. Definitely worth doing. Her brother Ahmed (Rambo) has a souvenir shop next to the Hana Stay Hostel and helped me a lot getting around, showing me local food, explaining culture and made me feel home and safe all the time. Thanks for this.

If you are looking for a guide in Luxor the. Look no further! Aliaa was fantastic from start to finish. Incredibly knowledgable, full of useful tips, patient with our young children and always going above and beyond! If we could give her 10 stars out of 5 then we would!! Addition!!! Following our successful trip with Aliaa in Luxor she kindly arranged us a tour in Cairo with Alla. Alla was every bit as knowledgable, inspiring and professional. How she kept her energy up I have no idea - full of interesting facts for the whole day and making a special effort to entertain our two children (7 and 8).
