Iber and Aurelio both did a wonderful job of making us feel safe and comfortable and worked hard to pass on their knowledge of and respect for the Mayan culture. The picked us up at our Air BnB in Tulum, we drove an hour into the jungle and had a short hike, received a traditional blessing, enjoyed a zip line over a lagoon, saw a family of spider Monkeys, canoed across the lagoon and then had our bike ride. We shortened it to 5 miles because we had younger children and the were very accommodating. The partially open cenote was beautiful and private. The highlight of the day was our traditional lunch with a Mayan family. Our boys said it was the best part of our trip! We had reserved the private backroads tour. The biking part was probably the most underwhelming and is good for people who want to get some exercise and go a bit slower. They followed us with the trailer so when our kids pooped out it wasn’t a problem. Fantastic experience, great company. Being MXN pesos in small bills as it is nice to tip and purchase souvenirs, but you aren’t pressured to do so.
Macarena and Kenya were just the best tour guides for our group. Crazy friendly and knowledgeable. Like Macarena knew every bird, I swear! We know it's luck of the draw as to whether we are able to see animals in the park but we were lucky to see crocs and manatees and all the birds! Even a coati on the way out 😅 Our day was made 100% better by Macarena and Kenya!
Did the Sian Kaan Wildlife full day tour with Pablo and Lea. They were great guides! Saw Manatees, dolphins, a crocodile, some amazing frigate birds and many other birds. Pedro told us lots of interesting things about the mangrove ecosystem and all the different plants and animals. He was happy to answer any questions as well. The lunch included as part of the tour was very good. Unfortunately during our tour the snorkeling part was canceled because of windy conditions (they clearly mentioned this was a possibility before we booked). So if you're keen on the snorkeling, try your best to look for a less windy forecast. (Rain does not matter they said, just wind). They used the extra time to spot more manatees.
