Unfortunately, this food tour didn’t live up to the hype. Most of the tastings were very basic—nothing you couldn’t find walking on your own. We spent more time waiting around than actually enjoying the food. The guide tried to keep things lively, but the group felt lost between locations and the overall timing was off. A disappointing way to experience Rome’s amazing cuisine.

I booked this food walking tour in Rome with high expectations, but it turned out to be one of the most disappointing experiences of my trip. The group was too big, so it felt rushed and crowded the entire time. The guide didn’t really connect with us, and most of the “food stops” felt like tourist traps with tiny samples that didn’t reflect authentic Roman cuisine. I left hungry and frustrated, and honestly felt like I wasted both my time and money. I’ve done other walking tours in Europe that were much more genuine, so this one was a real letdown.

This was hands down the worst tour I’ve ever done. From the moment it started, everything felt sloppy and unprofessional. The guide spoke like they were reading from a script and didn’t bother answering questions properly. The food was honestly terrible—tiny bites that tasted like they’d been sitting out too long, nothing fresh or special. Half the places we stopped at looked like they preyed on tourists, not real authentic Roman spots. I felt cheated, hungry, and completely let down. If you actually love food, avoid this tour at all costs.

We did the Trastevere walking food tour with Angelica. She was amazing. She took us to 7 great food stops, ranging from savory to sweet. You will definitely get your moneys worth and feel full at the end. We highly recommend this tour to get acquainted with the area. Angelica even shared recommendations to other cool spots in the area, which we’ve visited since the tour (all were great). Overall, it was a great experience.

Great tour with Walkingourmet and our guide Tiziana was exceptional telling us about all the different types of food and how they’re used in Italian cooking and especially Roman cooking. We tried a selection of street food from supli, cured meat, cheeses, pizzas and gelato and one served in a bread pocket with a filling of your choice. All these courses were tried in various locations in Trastevere. Overall a very informative tour with great food,I would highly recommend.
