Capybara Encounter Offers Gentle Wildlife Experience With Feeding and Interaction
A hands on animal experience featuring a friendly group of capybaras invites visitors to spend relaxed, up-close time with the world’s largest rodents in a calm, nature-inspired setting. Guests can enjoy gentle interactions such as pats, light scratching, and a bamboo feeding session while observing their peaceful and social behaviour.
Capybara are known for their calm temperament and strong group bonding, making them especially suitable for interactive educational encounters. During the experience, visitors may meet adult capybaras along with younger members of the group, offering a chance to observe family dynamics in a safe and controlled environment.
Beyond the hands-on interaction, the session also introduces interesting insights into capybara biology and behaviour. Their semi-aquatic lifestyle, preference for living near rivers and wetlands, and partially webbed feet allow them to move easily between land and water, while subtle vocal sounds help them communicate within their groups.
Blending relaxation with learning, the experience highlights how these gentle animals contribute to understanding ecosystems and habitat balance. It offers a memorable opportunity for families and animal lovers to connect with wildlife in a calm, engaging, and educational setting.

Customer Reviews
Had a brill time with the junior zookeeper experience for my 10 and 12 year olds. Loved seeing the animals up close and feeding them. Ben was a great host and so knowledgable and able to answer all our questions. Thanks a million
I couldn't recommend this wildlife park anymore. It was the highlight of our trip to Wexford. With a fabulous variety of animals to see such as goats, macaques, lemurs, meerkats, monkeys, rabbits, snakes, alpacas, llamas and pigs. They also have a fantastic on-site café that has an indoor bouncing castle for the kiddies and delicious food on offer, such as homemade soup, paninis, wraps, pancakes, chicken goujons and slow cooked roast beef. The food was so tasty and such a cosy vibe in the café, we'll definitely be back!
We are regular visitors to Secret Valley. The kids love it here. And the food in the cafe is delicious. They have a big bouncy obstacle course indoors too. We just attended the Halloween event and it was brilliant fun. Well spread out and the kids had a ball meeting the witches, picking out their pumpkins and loved the tractor ride back to the entrance. Highly recommend all year round. Well done team!!
